(NYSE: “CPF”, the “Company), parent company of Central Pacific Bank (” CPB “, the” Bank “), today announced the appointment of Jonathan B. Kindred as director of the boards of directors of CPF and CPB. The appointment is effective November 1, 2021 and increase the number of directors of the two boards from eleven (11) to twelve (12). The announcement was made today by Paul Yonamine, Chairman and CEO of CPF.
Kindred, 60, has over thirty-five (35) years of global experience in the financial services industry. He is currently a Managing Member of KR Consulting LLC, a professional services consulting firm located in Lahaina, Hawaii. From 1983 to 2019, he was employed at Morgan Stanley in a career spanning several roles in new York, London, and Tokyo. Most recently, he was President and CEO of Morgan Stanley Japan Holdings Co., Ltd. and Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities Co., Ltd., a position he held from 2007 to 2019. During this time, he was also a member of the Morgan Stanley Board of Directors.
Kindred was previously president of the International Bankers Association of Japan from 2011 to 2017. He was also director of the US-Japan Business Council, director of the Japan Society of new York, and a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Advisory Group on Global Financial City Tokyo.

Kindred graduated from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and obtained a Bachelor of Science (magna cum laude) in Economics. He is director and past president of Hawai’i Contemporary, a nonprofit arts organization that hosts the Hawai’i Triennial.
