MHRSD updated the Nitaqat program to create 340,000 jobs by 2024
Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH – The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has launched the âUpdated Nitaqatâ program, in line with the labor market strategy which aims to improve market efficiency and create attractive new jobs for nationals .
The updated system offers three main benefits, as follows:
First: a clear localization plan over the next three years to improve organizational stability in private sector establishments;
Second: the correlation between the number of employees and the target saudization rate in each establishment now depends on a linear equation in line with the number of employees of that establishment instead of the classification of establishments according to determined and fixed sizes ;
Third: a simpler design of the program to improve the customer experience by integrating common activities, which are currently 32 instead of 85 within Nitaqat.
The new update is in line with other localization programs launched earlier by the ministry, as it will create more than 340,000 jobs by 2024, the ministry said in a statement.
The Nitaqat program was first launched in 2011 to help locate jobs and set a minimum wage limit for private sector nationals.
The minimum salary cap was raised to SR 3,000, before reaching SR 4,000 at the start of the second quarter of 2021.
