Promote Mudra Loans, Increase Poverty Reduction Programs: Sadananda Gowda at SBI
Focusing on promoting Mudra loans and increasing central government poverty reduction programs, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda advised the State Bank of India (SBI).
Inaugurating SBI’s new branch at Kavalbyrasandra in Bengaluru, Gowda also highlighted the role played by the bank in reviving the economy by implementing central government initiatives.
He thanked the SBI and its agents for the continued support provided to the public during the difficult times of Covid-19 and in the implementation of various government programs. He further stated that SBI is the “mother” of all banks in India and asked the public to use the services of the bank.

Speaking on this occasion, Abhijit Majumder, CGM, SBI, stressed the need to educate potential clients of the branch, by regularly running programs on SMEs / GSS and other programs.
He also asked branch staff to encourage customers to use the YONO Digital platform to be self-sufficient and for optimal utility of various services.
The Union Minister then held an interaction meeting with the bank’s customers and told them about Covid-19 measures, the role of generics and central government initiatives.
